The SCG team take time to review how the 2010 ScotPlant show in Edinburgh went.
After a hectic week since the show, with 5 new large customers already placing orders with us by close of business on Monday, we have finally had the Easter weekend to unwind, after 4 intense weeks of preparation and subsequent dismantling for ScotPlant 2010.
As mentioned we were quick in following up every inquiry that we had on the stand and have already gone some way in covering the extensive investment that was made in ensuring our stand looked professional, and the most memorable of the weekend. The weekend was not just about the new customers we could catch the attention of, but also about reminding past customers who had slipped off the radar that we were still as competitive, and offer as wide and varied range of spare parts as any other supplies in the market.
The show was also for showcasing our new range of products that are targeted towards site and plant security, with the all new I-Spi and Ultra Bream Products, which will be showcased and reviewed online in detail in the coming weeks.
SCG supplies, founder and Managing Director Stephen Grieve, had this to say about how he thought the Show went ;
“Needless to say anyone who saw the weather in the East Coast of Scotland on the Friday can imagine how this impacted on the attendance of the show that day. Which, while being disappointing and hugely frustrating, was in the hands of the gods and there was nothing we could do about it. Apart from ensure everyone that did brave the elements to come to the show, came on the stand for a warm drink, or a cold beer and something to eat.”
“After the disappointing Friday and a rally at night back in the hotel, Michael from the Hamilton depot, who was in the office on Friday came through on Saturday and decided to bring the glorious West Coast weather with him. Meaning that the stand was bursting with people from when doors opened at 9 until 4, when the show closed. Anyone who didn’t actually make it on caught a glimpse of our world champion freestyle footballer Al Johnstone who was wowing the crowds, where the weather on Friday had prevented him.”
“It’s been a long and challenging 2 years since the last Scotplant, and with the previous Hillhead being cancelled it was difficult to predict how popular the show would be. But with the industry as a whole, applying themselves 100% to the event, I think it was a relief to everyone when the Saturday was so busy. And by the end of Monday I was delighted with the feedback I was receiving from new customers. Since then I have been even happier with the customers who haven’t ordered from us for while, who have got back in touch, and remembering that when it comes to honest pricing, and quality service SCG Supplies is the only choice to make.”
For those who didn’t get the chance to come along to the show, we have included below, some of the best photos for you to get a look at how it all unfolded.
