Screening separates material (often aggregates) into different sizes. Essentially a large sieve, screening machines remove contamination to produce specific products.

Pre-screeners, such as Grizzly screens, are often used to protect machinery further down the processing line – removing udnersized material before primary crushing or to prevent oversized material from damaging conveyors.

Finger screens are often used as a primary screen when working with material that could block other types of screens. With sloped and vibrating metal bars, finger screens encourage oversize material along the rows.

Decked screens can produce a number of products in a single pass as mesh with differing apertures are stacked above each other to separate the material. The aperture of the mesh controls the size of product, and the angle of the deck and vibration of the machine moves the material along the screen mesh deck.

The choice of screen unit is dependent upon feedstock abrasiveness, impact, feedstock size, moisture content, necessary throughput, cost-effectiveness and noise level. But all screening machines depend on the regular replacement of wear parts to keep running effectively.
